Stay Home, Stay Safe

Information from the Vermont Department of Health

The following COVID-19 news is from the Vermont Department of Health website. Visit the DOH website for additional info and helpful links.

Post update: this link to Vermont 2-1-1 provides additional contact information.

Vermonters are being asked to stay home as much as possible to keep everyone safe during this pandemic. Please leave for essentials only, such as food, and keep a safe distance of six feet between yourself and others. This will help slow the spread of the virus and protect people who are more vulnerable. Though we can all feel isolated at this time, we can, and should, connect with each other through technology, reading books, playing games and finding hobbies we enjoy. We’re all in this together. If you have symptoms of COVID-19 and mild illness, you can stay home and treat your symptoms. Not everyone needs to be tested. Testing is not treatment and we have limited ability to test. Use the NEW CDC Self Checker Tool to help you make decisions about seeking appropriate medical care.

The coronavirus attacks the lungs, making it harder for people who smoke or vape – tobacco, cannabis or anything else – to fight off the virus, putting them at much greater risk of severe illness, even death. There has never been a better time to quit. Find resources at 802QUITS.org

WHEN TO CALL

  • If you have questions about COVID-19: Dial 2-1-1. If you have trouble reaching 2-1-1, dial 1-866-652-4636. You can also use the Ask a Question tool on the DOH website.
  • If you are sick or concerned about your health: Contact your health care provider by phone. Not everybody needs to be tested. Do not call the Health Department. Do not go to the hospital, except in a life-threatening situation.
  • If you are returning from international travel or cruise travel you should stay home and self-monitor for 14 days. Read guidance from the CDC.

Hi. I’m working Vermont 2-1-1 as a volunteer. This link (https://vermont211.org/contact-us) provides additional ways to contact Vermont 2-1-1 than you listed in this current e-mail from the town. Might be helpful for the additional contact methods for some folks.
