The Peacham Tree Board, established in 2006, was formed to develop a tree maintenance and planting plan for trees in the Peacham villages, Town Forests, and shade trees along Town highways. The Select Board includes appropriate amounts in its annual budget to permit the Tree Board to carry out its assigned duties. Over the years, the Tree Board has earned grant monies from Vermont Urban and Community Forestry (Vermont Department of Forest, Parks and Recreation) and Preservation Trust of Vermont. The Board, along with dozens of community volunteers, planted over 50 trees (including Red Oaks, Maples, crabapples, and heirloom apples for the PHA). In 2009, Peacham gained Tree City USA status and was awarded Vermont Tree Steward Award by Vermont Urban and Community Forestry Council.
