State of Emergency Extended

This week Gov Scott extended the state of emergency – which was first declared in March – through mid-August, “It’s the vehicle we need to keep certain protections in place, control outbreaks as they come up so we can keep the economy open and manage the ongoing crisis,” he said.

The Governor added that Vermont will continue to reopen in a controlled manner as long as we are able to manage the spread of COVID-19. In order for this to happen, each of us must do our part. Here is how you can help to stay healthy and contain the spread of the virus:

  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Stay at least 6 feet away from people you do not live with.
  • Wear a mask when around people you do not live with.
