Heavy rain in the forecast

Rain will become heavy at times this afternoon and tonight across the area. Storm total rainfall of 1-4″ will have the potential to cause localized flash flooding across complex terrain and poor drainage urban areas. Sharp rises on streams and rivers are expected overnight tonight into Wednesday. Gusty winds from the east 20-30 mph with gusts of 50 to 55 mph expected over much of the area.
Flash flood watch is in effect from 2pm this afternoon (Tues 8/4) through tomorrow morning (Wed 8/5).
