Turning the Spigot

Slowly Reopening Vermont

On Friday, Jun 5, Gov Scott issued Addendum 17 to Executive Order 01-20. This addendum serves to modify travel restrictions from neighboring states and allows for municipal regulation of bars and restaurants.

Modified travel restrictions: New England and New York states all have areas with a low number of active cases of COVID-19. This addendum allows travel without
quarantine restrictions to and from counties in Maine, New Hampshire,
Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut and New York with 400 or fewer active cases
of COVID-19 per million. The list of qualifying counties will be updated weekly and is posted on the Agency of Commerce and Community Development website.

Vermonters should be aware that our neighboring states each have their own travel and quarantine policies. Please familiarize yourself with the current situation in any state to which you plan to travel.

Indoor dining in bars and restaurants: Beginning June 8, indoor dining will be allowed with limited occupancy and required distancing. New guidance has been issued by the ACCD. In addition, this addendum allows municipalities to enact stricter local requirements in order to address an outbreak of COVID-19 in the area.
