Tropical Storm Alert

Tropical Storm Fay on Saturday

Vermont Emergency Management (VEM) is monitoring the movement of Tropical Storm Fay into the weekend.

Heaviest rainfall is expected across the Adirondacks and southern Green Mountains of Vermont during the early morning hours of Saturday, where 1 to 1.5 inches of rainfall is expected with localized amounts possibly approaching 2.5 inches.

In these locations, a brief period of intense rainfall may lead to localized partial “gravel” washouts and may cause streams to reach or exceed their banks.

Otherwise, rainfall will be beneficial for most due to dry conditions this summer.

Additional showers and thunderstorms with locally heavy rainfall is possible Saturday afternoon.

No Wind Impacts expected.
